Pretty straight forward to assemble. It makes for decent shelter, but not all by itself. I was disappointed to see that there is velcro on the inside for an attachable door flap, but the house didn't come with one, and I couldn't find anything like it on the seller's page either. To be clear, it was NOT advertised with a door flap, so not the seller's fault - but it would make for a great improvement. I had to purchase a plastic door flap and staple it on instead, as rain can easily get in through the door no matter what direction it faces... so maybe it would have been easier to purchase a more expensive house with a door flap, as I didn't end up saving any money by purchasing this cheaper one instead. The house is water resistant, but you might want to elevate it, as the bottom can get soggy if it's directly on the ground when it rains a lot. But the rain doesn't leak through the roof. Also, it took a while for cat to finally use this - so don't give up straightaway if your cats don't - with a thermal blanket and/or some straw + a bit of catnip or treats sprinkled, they eventually learn it's a cozy nap space.

If you intend to put outside it would need to be weighted down as it is very light . I have put mine on bricks so it's off the ground and wedged under my patio table , my ferel cats so use it . I put hay inside for warmth and comfort

Day one and shelter looking a bit soggy so not sure is entirely waterproof… needs to be stood on something and I realised this a bit too late. I have added a large plastic box lid underneath now but on a pallet or bricks to keep off wet ground would be good. Would say ‘water resistant’ is more accurate description. I’ve added a brolly to help shelter it, so far our stray has not ventured inside!

I bought this to provide a warm and dry place for our local feral cat. It looks like it will help the cat to keep warm and shelter from the rain. The floor inside is rather hard so I lined it with a soft fleece cat mat. UPDATE: NOT FIT FOR ANY LIVING THING.. After a few weeks outside the inside is completely sodden - including the fleece mat I bought. Don't bother with it. Why does Amazon allow people to sell things that are no good? One day the cat might actually use it! Overall it is a well made shelter at a very good price.
